I got you beat...7.5 hours on this and then I engaged Microsoft PSS. This is still an issue as of build 1702:

Note that the certs have to be V2 for both IIS and the client certificate.
Between Microsoft spending about 2 hours on this issue and mine of 7.5, we're almost at 10 hours now!
